DAMC Consultative Meeting at Paro (22nd-24th May 2023)

We are delighted to announce that the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives is hosting a highly productive and engaging consultative meeting from May 22nd to 24th, 2023. This annual event brings together key stakeholders from various divisions, regional offices, and centers within the department, providing an exceptional platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and strategic planning.

During this consultative meeting, a range of crucial topics will be discussed to promote the seamless functioning and growth of the agricultural marketing sector. The agenda encompasses an orientation session specifically designed for Economic Development & Marketing Officers (EDMOs) and new recruits. This session aims to acquaint them with their roles and responsibilities within the department, augmenting their understanding of the department’s vision and strategies. By equipping them with this knowledge, we ensure that they are well-prepared to contribute effectively and make meaningful contributions.
Furthermore, the meeting will feature informative updates from the divisions, regional offices, and centers. These updates serve as a means to keep participants informed about ongoing activities, challenges, and accomplishments within their respective areas. By fostering a sense of unity and collaboration, these updates provide valuable insights for future planning and coordination.

A significant highlight of the consultative meeting is the dedicated session on the 13th Five Year Plan (FYP). This session serves as an important platform for reviewing the progress made thus far, identifying areas of improvement, and aligning strategies to achieve the goals outlined in the plan. By actively engaging in this discussion, we ensure that our efforts are streamlined and focused towards achieving our long-term objectives.
To further enhance the capacity of participants, the meeting will also facilitate training sessions on essential tools and platforms such as the Agricultural Commodity Marketing Information (ACMI) system and the Agricultural Marketing Information System (AMIS). These sessions aim to empower participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively utilize technology for efficient agricultural marketing and cooperative management.

Together, we will continue to diligently work towards transforming the agricultural marketing system and ensuring a prosperous future for farmers, cooperatives, and all stakeholders involved. By leveraging the expertise and collaboration fostered in this consultative meeting, we are confident in our ability to drive positive change and promote sustainable growth in the agricultural marketing sector.
