Signing of MoU

The Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Minutes of Meeting (M/M) for The Project for Improvement of Low-input Organic Farming Techniques and Stable Sales through the Model Case of Chanachen Village in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The project aims to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG1 – No Poverty, SDG2 – No Hunger, and SDG8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.

The M/M was signed between Mr. Tashi Dorji, Director of the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Mr. Tomoyuki Yamada, Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan Office.This project will be carried out with a Japanese company namely, Sun Smile Co., Ltd., under JICA’s Partnership Program. Sun Smile Co., Ltd. has more than 25 years history in production and sales of naturally grown and organic foods in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
