The Enterprise Development and Coordination Unit (EDCU) under the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Royal Government of Bhutan, intends to support potential and emerging agri-enterprises in strengthening the soft components of product branding, including packaging an labeling design, logo development, brand positioning, packaging concepts, labeling, storytelling, and possible nutrient profiling of agri-food products.
In this regard, EDCU-DAMC invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible agri-enterprises to submit proposals outlining their specific and tailored needs related to product branding and allied soft support services.
- Objectives of the EOI
The key objectives of this EOI are to:
- Strengthen domestic and export market presence through improved branding and product presentation.
- Design and implement need-based, efficient, and impactful branding interventions aimed at increasing product marketability, improving price realization, and expanding access to markets.
- Scope of Proposed Support (Indicative)
Enterprises may indicate requirements under one or more of the following soft components:
- Brand identity and positioning including logo and visual element (where applicable)
- Digital marketing
- Product naming and brand story development
- Packaging concepts and design direction
- Label design and content improvement (regulatory alignment, clarity, consumer appeal)
- Nutrient profiling requirements (where applicable)
- Export-readiness branding considerations (if applicable)
Note: This EOI does not guarantee immediate support. Final support modalities will be determined based on assessment and available resources. The support will be based on the Cost Sharing Mechanism (CSM), 2025.
- Eligibility
The EOI is open to:
- Registered agri-enterprises, and startups
- Enterprises engaged in agri-food processing, value addition, or agri-based products
- Enterprises with existing products or products nearing commercialization
4. Proposal Requirements
Interested enterprises are requested to submit a brief proposal (maximum 3–5 pages) covering the following information:
4.1 Enterprise Profile
- Name of the enterprise
- Legal status and registration details
- Year of establishment
- Contact information (address, phone number, email)
- Product(s) currently produced
4.2 Product Overview
- Description of product(s), including key features and value proposition
- Stage of product development (commercialized / pilot / near market-ready)
- Current market presence (local, regional, national, export, online platforms, if any)
4.3 Current Branding Status
- Existing brand name(s), packaging, and labeling (if applicable)
- Current positioning of the product in the market
- Key challenges faced in branding, packaging, labeling, and market differentiation
4.4 Proposed Branding Support Needs
- Specificsoft branding support required (e.g. brand identity, packaging concept, label improvement, storytelling, nutrient profiling, market positioning, etc.)
- Justification for the proposed support, clearly outlining existing gaps and constraints
- Expected outcomes and improvements anticipated from DAMC intervention
4.5 Business Performance, Linkages, and Impact
- Annual turnover of the enterprise (latest available financial year)
- Source of raw materials, including backward linkages with farmers, farmer groups, cooperatives, or local producers
- Number of farmers or producer groups currently engaged (if applicable)
- Social and economic impact of the enterprise (employment generated, income enhancement, inclusion of women/youth, contribution to local economy, etc.)
4.6 Future Market Aspirations
- Plans for market expansion, product diversification, or upgrading
- Export potential or readiness (if applicable)
- Role of branding and nutrient profiling in achieving future growth objectives
