11 August, Thimphu: The Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Ministry of Agriculture and Forest (MoAF) along with the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan Limited (RSEBL) launched a new online platform – Agricultural Commodity Market Initiative (ACMI). The platform was developed to enhance producers’ business visibility, connect buyer and seller anytime and anywhere and to establish wider market place. This platform is expected to enhance the marketing of agricultural commodities by providing additional marketing platform.
ACMI was officially launched on 11th August 2022 by Hon’ble Secretary of Ministry Agriculture and Forests, Dasho Thinley Namgyel together with the Chief Executive Officer of RSEBL. The platform was developed with the support of RSEBL, ICTD of MoAF and GEF-LDCF.
Currently, the ACMI is available on a web-based system but in due course of time, it will be made available in mobile apps too. The system is geared towards developing efficient agricultural market system in the country.
