For the past two days, the Economic Development and Marketing Officers (EDMOs) and DAMC colleagues from across the country came together for the much-anticipated annual conference. The gathering served as a platform to reflect, reconnect, and realign ourselves to the Department’s core mandate.

With inspiring guidance from the Director, we explored how collective energy can be harnessed to streamline domestic marketing and promote agricultural exports for the benefit of our farmers and to meet the 13th FYP targets.

The conference brought together teams from the Dzongkhags, regional offices, post-harvest centres, and HQ to share progress from the past year and gear up for what’s ahead. It was a gathering filled with learning, collaboration, and mutual inspiration.

What made this year extra special was the panel sessions led by our young EDMOs, fresh from a 9-day intensive training (3–12 June). They confidently shared insights on:

• 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆

• 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶-𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺

• 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴

Their heartfelt thanks went to the professors from Bihar and the University of British Columbia for equipping them with practical knowledge and tools.

The conference concluded on a high note with the award of certificates to the 21 EDMOs who successfully completed the capacity-building program, made possible by the Royal Civil Service Commission with funding from the GoI-PTA.
