It is with pleasure we announce that a unique Agri-Enterprise specifically to export Bhutanese Agri-Food Products to Australia was launched by Ms. Sonam Yuden, a Woman Agri-Entrepreneur in Bondey, Paro.
Until now, most Bhutanese products reached Australia as personal consignments for individual use, limiting their market potential and preventing them from entering mainstream retail channels.
Through this collaboration , DAMC aims to formalize and professionalize the export process. All participating entrepreneurs will be ensured to meet Australia’s packaging, labelling, food safety, and documentation requirements, ensuring that Bhutanese products can be exported legitimately, consistently, and at scale.
The collaboration between JANS Bhutanese Groceries from Perth, Western Australia and Dragon-Agri Enterprise of Paro was brought to the next level with the opening of the product aggregation and secondary packaging centre in Bondey.
JANS Bhutanese Groceries have been catering to the Bhutanese diaspora in Perth for the past few years with the sale of popular Bhutanese products like the herbal teas, Ezay, dried Chilis, dried green leaves etc.
In the evening, the owner of JANS Bhutanese Groceries, Mr. Sakthi, made a presentation to the selected Agri-Entrepreneurs on what are some of the products most in demand in Perth by the Bhutanese and some important labelling and packaging requirements for Bhutanese to export their products to Australia. The entrepreneurs then presented their products and discussed on future export through Dragon Agri to Australia.
Such innovative business partnership and linkage is crucial for the DAMC to increase exports of Bhutanese agri-products to Australia and most importantly to benefit the Agri-Entrepreneurs, Aggregators, Farmers and all stakeholders across the Agri value chain.
